EDGE public solutions has been named as a finalist (relating to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council) in the prestigious Municipal Journal 2012 Achievement Awards, the only private sector company to reach the finals.
EDGE has been shortlisted in the Transformation through IT category in recognition of their work with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council’s passenger transport and fleet services teams which is seeing it delivering guaranteed efficiency savings of £2.7 Million over 3 years. This category recognises the vital role the imaginative use of technology plays in reducing costs whilst improving the delivery of services.
Commenting on being shortlisted, Jim Aspin, Managing Director ofEDGE said, “In the current economic climate councils are, quite rightly, looking to make genuine long-term savings. The sorts of savings that can only come from transforming the way councils work in order to improve frontline services and make them more efficient and user-friendly. We are delighted to have been shortlisted in this transformation category and for our team, and Neath Port Talbot’s, to achieve this recognition.”.
“EDGE is one of only a few consultancies in the Country who offer a risk free service and this is vitally important for all public bodies. If we don’t deliver the agreed results to our clients then our fees are at risk. This was understandably very appealing to Neath Port Talbot when they appointed us for this major project.”
Speaking about the project, Steven Phillips, Chief Executive, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council said, “We had an ambition to reduce the overall cost of our transport whilst maintaining service and quality. EDGE have provided us with the expertise, additional capacity and underwritten the delivery of the savings necessary to realise that ambition.”
